Across Canada, child care centres are closing rooms and limiting enrolment because they cannot retain staff in their programs.

The current approach to the implementation of the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) plan will not solve the growing recruitment and retention crisis. CWELCC is life-changing for children and families. All families deserve access to child care provided by educators who are well-compensated and treated with respect. 

In Ontario, there’s been no progress from decision-makers on addressing the ongoing staffing crisis.

We need action on the early years and child care workforce now. 

On November 30th, ECEs, child care workers, families, ECE students, operators, children, advocates and communities across the country are coming together for a National Day of Action in support of the early learning and child care workforce to amplify the need for immediate attention into the Canada-wide child care crisis.
