Revised CPL Program for RECEs features simplified “One Year, One Goal” Portfolio 

New Sexual Abuse Prevention Program member education available July 2022

Today, the College of Early Childhood Educators (the College) is unveiling its revised Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) Program for Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs). The revamped CPL Program now includes member education on sexual abuse prevention and a simplified CPL Portfolio that reduces the:  ·     portfolio cycle from two years to one  ·     number of required professional learning goals from three to one goal per year ·     components from three to two  Members will have access to the simplified CPL Portfolio components and resources as of July 2022. Completing the CPL Portfolio Cycle is optional during the year that a member is completing the Sexual Abuse Prevention Program educational requirement. The simplified CPL Portfolio will become mandatory for members beginning in July 2023.   The CPL Portfolio Cycle was revised based on member and stakeholder feedback and data collected since 2017. The portfolio continues to be grounded in self-reflection, self-directed learning and the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

Beginning July 1, the new Sexual Abuse Prevention Program for RECEs will be available online any time and at no cost, in English and French via My College Account

 New Sexual Abuse Prevention Program Launches July 2022 
Mandated by the provincial government, the Sexual Abuse Prevention Program builds on the skills and knowledge RECEs already have in this area and provides an opportunity to reinforce the position of trust they have with families and their community in terms of child protection.
