Now available! Practice Note: Preventing Professional Dishonesty   
In a profession grounded in care, respect, trust and integrity, maintaining professional honesty is essential. To support Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs) in understanding the impact of dishonesty and in strengthening their ethical decision-making, the College has published a new resource: Practice Note: Preventing Professional Dishonesty.  

This resource is designed to help you:   
– Recognize what constitutes professional dishonesty and its potential consequences;
– Understand how dishonesty in documentation, communication or reporting can affect children, families, colleagues and the public;
– and Embrace professional honesty as a foundation for ethical and accountable practice.   

Scenarios for reflection and discussion   
Three companion resources highlight key areas where honesty is essential in practice, including documentation and reporting, communication and declarations to the College.   To deepen your understanding, explore the scenarios that focus on honesty in: 
Education and training
Interactions with the College
Everyday practice  

How you can use these resources:   
–Take time to review the Practice Note, companion resource and linked materials. 
–Reflect on the scenarios and reflection questions. 
–Use it to support staff discussions, community of practice conversations or team meetings. 
–Incorporate it into policy review or development. Consider the topic for your next CPL portfolio goal and learning activities.   
By reviewing and reflecting on this new Practice Note and its companion resources, you can build confidence in your professional decision-making, promote accountability and contribute to public trust in the profession.
